Reflections Week 7
I think that technology is great but we need to remember that we should not go too far with technology. So much technology can be more of a distraction that a learning tool. As for my weeks project I wanted to do so much and had little time. First there needs to always be a student companion site where the student can go and get information. Once that has been established there needs to be some type of teacher student connection and that is where I would use weekly podcast and Google video for chatting and communication. I do believe that stunts can’t be taken lightly there should be some boring in class semesters this makes the student a better person.

Reflection Week 6
This week was very important and i am very happy that podcast have made it into the online educational classroom. I just started to use podcast this semester for my personal classes that i teach and it is great. With podcast, we have that student teacher relationship that is so hard to get unless everyone is in a classroom setting. However, allowing the students to see what is happening it drowns his or her attention rather than text on a page that loses me as a student with a few hours into assignments. But having that interaction is great and i recommend this to any educator.

Reflections Week 5
My reaction to the technology I have just been introduced to
is stunning I did not there was a place to save the bookmarks of your findings
and share them with others. However, I have to look at there is so many social
media sites out there and everyone is doing the same thing on all of the sites
something that involves calibration. I believe Google has facilitated this best
by adding there tool in an all in one place for the users to get to instead of
logging into multiple sites. If the tool were built into Google it would be an excellent
tool in my arsenal but my usernames and password slits is growing. This will be
a great tool for students as well even though some links may be blocked from
school it is very true that he or she can go home and get to the site but
without adding control and seamlessness to the students access makes the
process cloudy and the student has less time registering for this tool than learning.
In this class since we are leaning about technology It is a great fit but for
someone that is not tech savvy we want to focus their attention on one tool and
leverage that tool. Organizing bookmarks on any site that facilitates that
storage and social media aspect is great and puts a college student and or
professor at a great advantage to always have that knowledge stored in a safe location.
As well as have the ability to share that knowledge.

Reflections Week 4
Reflections 4
After reading the article I think that e-portfolios are a
great resource for k-12 students as well as higher education. I think that if information
is presented to the student in an interactive way and can continue to draw the
student in by connecting the portfolio to some social media sites. After I build
up my ideals and develop my portfolio it will help me become a better communicate
through my knowledge that is relied from my portfolio. As well as build up my
knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies embedded into the e-portfolio site.

Reflections Week 3
My wiki is in the first stages of development wiki’s can be
very good or very bad the information that you provide in a wiki must be accurate
and up to date. My ideals are more on virtualization of the classroom and interaction
of the student and teacher relation. There are many advantages of a wiki it
helps get the information out to your users in an organized and well format.
Keeping wikis up to date ensures that the correct information is given to the
user as well as accurate and trustworthy data. The disadvantages of wiki’s is almost
the same as the advantages if your data is old and unorganized it makes it very
hard to find and navigate. If the information is stale of to much inaccurate data
the wiki becomes inactive and not a trustworthy source of information.
As for
more web 2.0 technology there is so much out there but to do videos on a wiki can
help explain more from the wiki page by allowing the end user to interact with
the author more.

Reflections Week 2
This may make me little bias but one organization that I think
we should all look at some time is the National Association of Special
Education Teachers (NASET) is the
only national membership organization dedicated solely to meeting the needs of
special education teachers and those preparing for the field of special
education teaching. But not only special education it’s a place where we can go
and find out types of technology that can help students as I stated earlier in
my blog everyone has some type of disability and if the teachers home in on
that disability we can make a better impact on the students education. In
addition, this brings us to the main topic of students with disabilities we
look at assistive technology. Its an umbrella term that includes assistive,
adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities and also
includes the process used in selecting, locating, and using them

Another organization is very important to help align us with
other countries and ensure that if there is technology in another part of the work
we are interacting with that technology as well for example Facebook and Google
are a notional technology that is used all around the world. The organization International
Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is put in place just to do that it
is a nonprofit professional organization with a worldwide membership of leaders
and potential leaders in educational technology. We are dedicated to providing
leadership and service to improve teaching and learning by advancing the
effective use of technology in K–12 education and teacher education.

And of course we cannot forget EDUCAUSE this is an all in
one type organization that brings any new technology in higher education and
brings it to lite as well as hold conferences and post jobs in those fields of
technology.

Your imagination and creativity is your only limit!
The Impact of Technology
The positive and negative impacts of education technology, there
are many educational dynamics that have been changes when moving into the technology
realm. The new structure with technology at the driver’s seat teachers are not
the knowledge bowl of the classroom , instead of a passive sponge soaking up knowledge the
students are not able to learn interactive and retain knowledge in real time.
The
pros of technology is that it has been accepted by so many institutions and it
helps bring full time working individuals to the web using some type of social
technology to teach them. There are three main roles that education technology brings
to the table. The first one is Change in the roles of students and teachers:
Students become actively involved in the process of education rather than the
traditional passive roles students assumed. The teacher, instead of being the
center of attention, becomes a facilitator of the means by which students learn
using modern technology. The second one is Motivation and improved self-esteem:
Students become more motivated when using technology because it relates to
their everyday life and they can see practical implementation of what they
learn in the class. The third one is Technical Skills, teamwork, improved use
of outside resources, improved design skills/attention to audience.
The cons
of technology in education are that we separate the students form a Briggs and
morder type structure. And the students miss some of the key features and
activities because the student will be in front of a computer a cell phone or smart
phone. The lines are no so clear in the cons to pros of education and
technology but the trend starts in the digital revolution hit generation
z, also known as the digital generation of youth with a new way of interacting
with the world and with their own identities. Social networking websites, such
as Facebook are tools by which the digital generation as a means of
assessing their culture

My Educational Technology Philosophy
My education philosophy is as much technology that we can
use to get more information out to the student we are teaching the better. The
technology should not be complicated and get in the way of the student learning.
And most of all we as teachers and educators need to teach our students in w a
way that he or she learns the world is changing and the technology is changing we
need to residual enough to change with the technology.
Review of Educational Blogging Article
After reading many teaching philosophies, I believe that we
need to teach the students exactly what they need to know but introduce them to
more technology to get them more in touch with the world on a professional level.
I think blogging is not ready for younger students because the individuals will
treat it like a text message or Facebook post. This is not professional and until we can trading and teach the students
to wire professionally we will be making more work for us as teachers and
taking away from the learning experience of the student.
